GREAT NEWS!!!! Once again, that weasel Enrico gets what he deserves. Hopefully he will spend another year in jail just like he did the year before. It is glaringly obvious Enrico prefers men to women. I think he is probably gay and is afraid to come out. His actions indicate how much he hates women and how he loves spending a lot of close, personal time with men. Take heart ladies, he is off the streets now - hopefully for a very, very long time.
Hopefully the rat, weasel, dreg of society, parasite, liar, will hear the slamming of metal. Oh the sweet sound of metal slamming!!!
This was posted in the Toronto Star today....I particularly found the "pace maker" and "frail health" comments interesting! Seems the con has conned the courts!
Not nearly a stiff enough sentence but at least he's in jail again. Let's face it...a leopard can't change its spots, he'll get out, do it all over again and wind up back in jail. It's only a matter of time. Glad his latest victims family got involved and did the right thing by calling the police.
Hmmmm..wonder why peter pan has not been posting for a while?? ohhhhh, that's right, you can't access the internet from your JAIL CELL!
HAMILTON—An incorrigible con artist who preys on single women on Internet dating sites was slapped with a 45-day jail sentence yesterday for another breach of his probation.
Enrico Cagnotti, 52, of Tiny Township near Midland, turned himself into police in Midland on June 16, and was brought to Hamilton to face charges of failing to comply with his probation.
Cagnotti admitted to approaching a Hamilton woman on the Internet and to taking her on a date on New Year’s Eve.
Assistant Crown attorney Brett Moodie said the woman’s family became suspicious and contacted police after Cagnotti moved into her home and refused to leave for three weeks.
Cagnotti has a lengthy criminal record that began in 1996 with a conviction for uttering threats, and he has since racked up more than two dozen convictions for fraud, theft and forgery.
In August 2007 he was prohibited by an Owen Sound judge from cruising online dating sites for three years, or holding himself out as an “available partner” on any social networking site.
The order followed convictions for uttering threats and obstructing police.
Ontario Provincial Police say women in different parts of the province have complained about Cagnotti exploiting them for financial gain. He goes by various assumed identities and lures victims on dating sites, such a Plentyoffish, by misrepresenting himself and telling tales of his wealth and lavish lifestyle.
Some victims said he pretended to drive a $1-million Mercedes-Benz and claimed to be an airline pilot with a private flight-services company.
Other women said he claimed to be the nephew of Italian business tycoon Sergio Cragnotti and held himself out to others as the godson of the Gambino mafia family.
Hamilton lawyer Alex Burns, who represented Cagnotti in court yesterday, said the convicted man collapsed from a heart condition after being brought to this city to face the new charges.
He said Cagnotti expects to be admitted to hospital to have a pacemaker put in his chest after he gets out of jail.
Ontario Court Justice Bernd Zabel told Cagnotti he was getting a break because of his frail health. The judge agreed to a joint submission from the defence and prosecution for a further 24 days in jail on top of 21 days of pretrial custody.
Zabel placed him on probation for two years and extended the Internet dating prohibition for the duration.
In March 2009, the Ontario Court of Appeal upheld an 18-month jail term that Cagnotti had received the previous November after pleading guilty to three breaches of probation.
“The appellant is an incorrigible con man who seeks to victimize women for financial gain, and who shows no respect for court orders,” the court said in a brief decision.
Thanks for that! I am going to post the article. It seems the creep does have a "heart" issue which is surprising because he does not have on. Well I guess after all the years of faking a heart attack so as to get out of going to jail right away has caught up with the moron. Ashame they are putting a pack maker in...they should just let his ticker expire so the police can cross one more serial crimnal off of their list...for good!
